Website and Web Service Reviews
Well, the title says it all. It is a service which you can use to generate a newspaper clipping. You have to enter the name of the newspaper, the headline and the content.
The service will automatically generate a newspaper clipping. Remember, it only generates a clipping of a newspaper and not the entire first page or something like that.So this may just be used for purposes of entertainment and nothing more.
The service is effective, but there are a few hitches as expected.
It could have been made more realistic, I guess, but heck, its free and complaining may not exactly be right. But of course, I am entitled to my opinions and thats what is seen above.

I must say that I had not looked carefully when I posted last. This time around, I did come across a site that generated e-mail sigs, like I mention in my previous post.
Only difference is that this site offers sigs for a lot of e-mail providers. The purpose behind it is pretty much similar to the one in the last post. Check that for details.
But if you want sigs only for gmail, the previous site is the best, as it offers 3 different types of images all of which look more elegant.
The link to this site is:
Nexodyne E-mail Icon Generator.
And yes, it is indeed free.

This is another simple, straightforward service.
Need: You need to display your e-mail ID to visitors on your blog, website etc.
The Problem: Typing the e-mail ID out, or using a mail to: link will ensure that atleast one spambot gets hold of it every hour on the hour[this depends on how popular your site is].
The Solution: Just as spam e-mails to your inbox arrive with their contents embedded in images, you can just embed your e-mail ID in an image. [The image is good looking as well]. Simply enter your e-mail ID into the box and get 3 different images containing your e-mail ID generated at once. This is of course, free.
The Hitch: Currently this site offers the service only for gmail IDs.

Hope you find that useful. If you find any other similar service for other e-mail providers, feel free to contact me.
Cheers

Simplicity seems to be word that describes the recent sites I’ve put up here, and this one is no different.
The site is called dodgeit and just as the title says, it offers free disposable e-mail IDs. Probably most would know the need for a disposable or temporary e-mail ID. For the ignorant however, these e-mail IDs can be used for a one-time reception of mails from some place.
For example, you need to register at a site to simply check it out and they obviously ask for your e-mail ID. Giving your real permanent ID may result in you, receiving a lot of spam if the source is not trusted.
So, when the registration mail is sent to a temporary e-mail ID, you can just confirm the registration mail and forget about spam.
That is exactly what dodgeit is all about. On their site, all you do is simply enter a name in the textbox provided [@dodgeit.com], and voila, you get a mailbox at yourname@dodgeit.com .
Just give out this e-mail ID while registering and the e-mail is received at this address upon sending.
The fact is that multiple people can actually login to the same mailbox. This could compromise your login ID or any other details received through mail.
The fact is that the ID and the mailbox will be deleted once every seven days. And another fact is that you can not delete the mails received or the already existing ones. They are cleared only during the weekly clean up. So make it a point that you dont receive any personal or classified e-mails on this.
However, there is one way to bypass this. You could make a small donation [2$ is just fine] to password protect the inbox and also this gives you the ability to delete messages you receive. The mailbox and the account name is never deleted until you want it to.
This, of course spoils the entire point of a disposable ID. Heck, you could just go to yahoo and sign up there for free. Great thinking there, geniuses.
The advantage here is that you could probably get the e-mail ID of your choice [like John etc] which may not be available at Yahoo!. Of course, you could get that e-mail ID if you had any domain name. My opinion would be to donate to them, for the service, but most certainly not for the mailbox, site design or features on the site.
In Brief:
Site: DodgeIt
Pros:
Cons:
Recite your experiences with this if you have used it.
Until next time,
Cheers
