This is the slogan with which a service called file-swap identifies itself with. And not at all off the mark, I should say.

The function of this site is exactly what it states. You can swap files, but under the condition that you won’t know what you are getting in exchange.

This is how it works:

• You upload a file from your Hard Disk which is less than 500 KiB
• The file gets uploaded and as an exchange for your contribution, you get a link to download another file uploaded by some other user.

You may not receive a file with the extension you uploaded, but sometimes that may be the case. Also the size of the file you get in return for your upload may also not be the same size as your upload.

Before you upload, the site asks you to confirm 2 things:

1. The content must NOT be copyrighted [Yeah, right]

2. You agree to let anybody else view it anywhere.

The file size limit for uploads is only 500 Kib which is hardly anything, but that is to prevent an excess load on their server.

You can swap files like:

Gmail has an interesting quirk where you can add a plus sign (+) after your Gmail address, and it’ll still get to your inbox. It’s called plus-addressing, and it essentially gives you an unlimited number of e-mail addresses to play with.

Necessity: A gmail e-mail ID, e.g abc@gmail.com

Here’s how it works: Say your address is pinkyrocks@gmail.com, and you want to automatically label all work e-mails. Add a plus sign and a phrase to make it pinkyrocks+work@gmail.com and set up a filter to label it “work” (to access your filters go to Settings->Filters and create a filter for messages addressed to pinkyrocks+work@gmail.com.
