Website and Web Service Reviews
Recently, the Litemind Lists Group Writing Project concluded and it was impressive to see a large number of entries and find that most of them were quite useful. Group Writing Projects are a great way to get some attention to your blog and also to build up some reputation. My post dealt with 5 Surefire Ways to Increase Comments on a Blog.

Here are some of my choices in the project in no particular order whatsoever:
I would also advise you to check out the rest of the wonderful entries as well!
Disposable Email services are quite a few around the net, but honestly I haven’t come across one as useful as this. The basic reason I use a disposable email service is to sign up for a site or forum and to prevent using my real email ID to avoid spam or unwanted emails. When I sign up, obviously a confirmation mail is sent. I need to click on a link to verify my account and email ID.

Overall, this is quite a useless job since I won’t probably visit the site again. How would it be if the email auto verified the link for you? This is exactly the objective with MintEmail. It is another service that provides you with disposable email IDs to use, but it makes the process easier and faster for you.
How does it work?
To create a new disposable email ID, all you need to do is visit the site. That’s it, every time you visit the site or reload the homepage of the site, you get a new email ID generated. You can also create a custom email ID if you like, but for a temporary account, that would be useless. Once created, an account will exist for 4 hours.
One interesting feature is that as soon as a new email ID is created (on reloading the page), the ID is copied to your clipboard. So, you can simply paste the ID on to the registration form and complete the registration.
Continuous Mail Check
One more useful feature is that the service continuously keeps checking for new incoming emails. As soon as a mail arrives, the page gets updated with the email. Also, the tab in which the site is open changes the label to New Email so that you’ll know even if you are browsing in another tab.
Auto Verify Confirmation Links
The most useful feature is the ability of the service to auto-verify confirmation links in emails. Essentially what this does is click on all possible links in an email and one of them must be the confirmation link. Before it delivers the mail to your inbox, it clicks the links and then displays the message. It also lets you know the links that were clicked and also saves the pages where the links lead to.
Retrieve the Account
Plus, if you accidentally close the page or refresh the page, you needn’t worry about losing the email account. Simply choose a custom name, with the same name as your earlier email address or visit http://mintemail.com/username. All the emails in that ID are displayed as long as its done within 4 hours.
Setting Up Redirects
You can also create accounts for longer periods basically for redirecting mail to your original email ID. Simply create the account, set the time period (3 month max.) and you are good to go.
This service, IMO is designed to ensure that you don’t even have to move your mouse too much! But with so many useful features, I certainly will be using it for quite some time atleast. What do you think of the features at MintEmail? Do you know of a better site? Let me know in the comments!
