Website and Web Service Reviews
Assuming you are writing about a site or reviewing a product, a nice screenshot of the website would a wonderful addition to the post. And it is an accepted fact that images increase the chance of people scanning through the post. But including screenshots of webpages is difficult if you need to manually do a print screen, copy-paste, crop and then upload the image.
To simplify this process, WebSnapr 2.0 provides you with free screenshots of any website that you want. On the WebSnapr homepage, you are able to view sample screenshots by selecting a size and entering the website address. The amazing thing about WebSnapr, unlike Browsershots, is that the screenshots are obtained almost immediately. I had to wait a maximum of 3 seconds for the screenshot to be queued, taken and received.
There are 4 default screenshot sizes which you can use. However, these 4 sizes represent the majority of screenshot sizes used around the web, so you won’t have any problems with them. The larger the screenshot size, the more time it takes to get the screenshot.
The most important use would of course be to, implement this on your site. For this you need to do the following steps.
Next, you need to use the screenshots in your site. What you need to do is use the below default code
http://images.websnapr.com/?size=[size]&key=[key]&url=[url]
Use the above code to denote the location of the image
e.g <img src=”http://images.websnapr.com/?size=[size]&key=[key]&url=[url]” />
You need to make the following changes to the code as well
letter t for size 90×70, letter s for 202×152, letter m for 400×300 and letter l for 640×480
For example the code below gives the following result, http://images.websnapr.com/?size=m&key=mykey&url=http://www.siteguide.us
The result is a 400×300 screenshot of the homepage of this site. Pretty efficient I must say.
All screenshots have a Powered by Websnapr.com at the bottom. This is not exactly distracting, but I would have preferred one without it. But it is a free service anyway. Also, there is no how-to-use page telling us the use of the letters for denoting the size of the screenshot. I had to find that one out by myself.
Finally, your Developer Key can be used by anyone from any site. This is because the key is present in your image link and all one needs to do is look it up and use it. But since there is no bandwidth limits, that may not cause a problem.
How are you using screenshots in your site? Would this be something you’ll try out? Do let me know. Thanks for reading!

Cool… It just took 4 seconds to capture and upload my screenshot! I only knew BrowserShots, thanks for this great tool!
I am starting to use this now-a-days as well!
Very useful info, I was beginning to get tired of having to use microsoft onenote to take screenshots and having to edit them with adobe or something before finally uploading at which point I probably would have forgotten what I was blogging about. Thanks for the info
