Many a time, we would have come across situations where we would have found it difficult to correlate between sizes of objects. Let us take an example. Suppose you come across a certain product on the internet, say a flash drive. The image on the manufacturer’s site would probably not show the accurate size of the flash drive. So, when you are looking at different options to see which one would be compact to use, it will be difficult to tell the difference unless you physically see the products.

This may not be possible due to a variety of reasons. In order to overcome such problems, there exists a service called Sizeasy.

What is Sizeasy?

Sizeasy is an online service that helps you to compare objects and their sizes by displaying them in 3 dimension. By doing this, you are able to get a realistic idea of the difference in size between two objects. All you need to use sizeasy are the dimensions of the object you need to compare. The dimensions of the flash drive in the above example would be available at the manufacturer’s site.

3-D View:

How do I start?

Visit Sizeasy
Click on add item
Type in a name for it, say Apple iPod
Enter its dimensions
Click on add
If you want to compare it to another item, say a Zune, enter its dimensions by typing another name and the dimensions in the boxes and click on add again

Other Features:

Sizeasy also allows you to compare such items with standard items such as a box of matches, a credit card, a CD case, a wine bottle and so on. For such items it is not necessary to enter the dimensions as they are readily available.

The interface is smooth and easy to use. The images update as soon as you make any changes without reloading the page. The images are semi-transparent and hence you can see the images one behind another. This is useful to evaluate sizes without pain.

Types of images:

There are 4 different types of images that are generated for accurate comparison. They include the 3D view, a top view, a side view and a front view. Also, you can hide one or more items temporarily when looking at the comparison of different objects. You can add, modify, reorder and delete objects depending on what you want.

Sharing and saving:

You are able to save and share the comparison with others. As soon as the images have been generated for your comparison, click on the save and share tab. You will be provided with a permanent URI for your comparison using which you can access it anytime you want.

Browser Support:

Only Internet Explorer 6+ and Mozilla Firefox 1.5+ are supported currently. Support for Opera is expected.
