Some may have heard about it and some may not. But all the same, if you want a real test of your mind skills and don’t mind spending sometime racking your brains then here is the thing for you.

What is Klueless?

Klueless is a game introduced, produced and managed by a group of students formerly and currently from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore. It is basically a online quiz consisting of 30 Levels. To get past each level, you need to answer an indirect or direct question on that particular webpage.

Can I simply google it?

Sometimes, an answer would not be necessary and you may simply have to observe carefully, the entire webpage and the source to find ways to move ahead. Cheating will get you nowhere. As the IIM guys state, you can Google all you want, but since none of the questions are direct, you probably won’t find the answer on Google straight away.

There has been more than one edition of Klueless and people have cleared all the 30 levels. But, it is not as simple as that. You need some time specifically for this as this game is really addictive. Also, a simple knowledge of HTML and web pages is needed.

Here are the Official Rules:

Gameplay:
The game play involves getting to the next level. Each level is only one webpage.

Rules:
Get to the next level in whichever fashion. But don’t use spoilers (answers cracked by other people).

Hints:

  1. Look for clickable objects on the page, within text, even within pictures.
  2. Use Google wherever you think you need it. Most levels anyway require some amount of Googling.
  3. Some levels require login and passwords to reach them. These are simple words that can be found on any of the levels preceding it, or maybe the result of manipulating something on these levels, or the result of a Google on anything on these levels.
  4. Look closely at the pictures on the levels, if any, to find clues & hints. But don’t be bound by them. some of these pics are there just because we want to show them off.
  5. “May the source be with you”. Answers to some levels may just be hidden in the source code of the webpage itself. Just look at the source of the page to find things that may seem like keys to further levels.
  6. The way to get to the next level for certain levels after getting the keyword/clue may be to change a word/term in the URL (the http:// thing in the address bar of your browser). Most often than not, it’s the last part before the .asp (like ‘game’ for this page).
  7. Some amount of binary (.exe, .jpg, .mp3) download/manipulation may be required to get the hint to next level.
  8. Not everything that looks like a hint may point to the right answer/path. The guys at Klueless would like to play with your mind once in a while you know.
  9. IMPORTANT: Any text answer required anywhere in the game will always be lowercase, not UPPERCASE, cAmelcase, mIxEdcASe or Sentencecase.

I would request everyone reading this to give it a shot atleast. After all, you’ve got nothing to lose. Play Klueless Now. Also, if you are really desperate and need the answers, you can simply google it.

PS: I made it to level 27 till now. Please do leave your comments about the game and how far you managed to get. :D
