Website and Web Service Reviews
MailBigFile is a service that enables you to send files to your friends or anybody else for that matter, through email, as attachments. It is a known fact that most email providers do not allow you to send files over 10 Mib as attachments. This service comes in useful at this time.
This is pretty much like another file sharing service, but one you may add to your list of file storage sites.
It works in a way pretty similar to other file sharing services, except that you are able to send a notification to the person whom you want to receive the file. Even you will have no idea what the link to the file is, only the recipient will. Pretty good security or what?
There is no need to register an account at the site for the free service. In the free service you are able to upload upto 100 Mib for a single file and you can upload multiple files as well. The paid accounts allow upload of upto 2 Gib for a single file.
Most file formats are supported and surprisingly, so is .exe. I was able to open a .jpg file that I shared on the server. I am not sure about the execution of .exe though.
Also, there are pro and business accounts available as well. You can check out the difference between the various services with the comparison chart. Files on the free service are stored only for 3 days and even for the pro and business accounts, the file storage time is only 14 days which is kind of less for paid services.
This does seem to be a promising service, but there are a few let downs which need to be rectified for it to become successful. You can also have a look at the company blog.

Hi there,
Wow, I’ll have to check this out. There are occasions I have to send things to our webmaster, but the files are too large. I end up having to put it to disk and taking it there.
I stumbled across your site from another listing you as part of the Technorati favs exchange.
I’ve already added you to my favs.
